DescriptionBoxeeBoxRemote.jpg |
The Boxee Box alongside the remote. The remote is RF-based, and there's no IR sensor for universal remotes such as the Logitech Harmony. However, I think you can plug in a USB IR receiver and use that, though I'm not 100% sure. The software itself is pretty good - it's Boxee, so it's kinda...weird, in places, but for what myself and my dad use it for (streaming video from my PC to the lounge TV), it's great. So far hasn't struggled with anything I've thrown at it - 720p MPEG4/H264 MKV and MP4 files, 1080i MPEG2 TS files, and 1080p MPEG4/H264 MKV files all the way up to a huge 22GB copy of Avatar that I have. It takes a few moments to buffer the content over Ethernet, but once it's done that it's perfect. Can fast forward, rewind, load subtitles, etc, no problem. :) |
