I have written to the person who took a picture in this category (Samarra Imported Chinese Lustre-Painted Porcelain (28085672094).jpg) of this very object to ask permission to have its (and that of many others) name changed. This would be on two counts: lustre ware was invernted in this area, so why import it from China? And: it is not porcelain but earthenware. I think someone imported this and many similar pictures and misread a text for the first picture in the series as meaning the technique was imported (and not, as the text has it, the design). The same person probably "knew" that anything ceramic from China is porcelain. And then made a mess.
