Summary
[edit]DescriptionBowl barrow on Beaulieu Heath, New Forest - geograph.org.uk - 458638.jpg |
English: Bowl barrow on Beaulieu Heath, New Forest There are a number of Bronze Age bowl barrows on Beaulieu Heath. This one is just to the south of the B3055 road, just to the west of the linear earthwork (possibly called "Cerdic's Bridgehead") that crosses the road. The barrow has gorse growing on its sides and the top has two side concrete cylinders sunk into it, probably military engineering from the Second World War when there was an airfield on the Heath. |
