Title |
Bow brooch fragment |
||
Description |
English: A copper alloy Roman bow brooch fragment, probably a Colchester derivative hinged type. Only one wing and the upper bow survive, the rest is missing due to old breaks. The metalwork is worn and there is active corrosion product. The wing is cylindrical and the bow is rounded in section, the surfaces being too worn to ascertain the true dhape and thickness. The fragment measures 12.88mm in surviving width, 28.61mm in surviving length, and weighs 6.74g. |
