Title
Bow and fantail brooch - reverse
Description
English: A copper alloy bow and fantail brooch. The bow is rectangular in section; its upper surface is decorated with two longitudinal grooves; the bow expands slightly to meet the flat triangular 'fantail' foot plate. The plate is decorated with a broken back scroll pattern with a lozenge above. Traces of discoloured enamel remain around the decoration. The wings are short and plain. A circular suspension loop extends from the head. There are traces of tinning in this area. The pin was hinged but does not survive. The catchplate is triangular.
