Title
Bow and Fantail Brooch from Crowle
Description
English: Copper alloy

Brooch. Bow and Fantail Brooch, incomplete. Cast bow with tubular wings and probably a hinged pin (now lost), an arched bow separated by a moulding from an expanded fantail foot with the stub of a catch-plate behind it. Heavily abraded, so there is no indication whether the fantail was enamelled, as is often the case. Suggested date: Early Roman, 80-150.

Length: 32.1mm, Width (wings): 26.4mm, Thickness (crest of bow): 5.3mm, Weight: 9.00gms.
