Title
Bow Brooch
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy Roman bow brooch, probably of Colchester derivative type. Only the foot of the bow and catch plate survive, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.

The bow has a flattened D-shaped section. There is an integrally cast catch plate that is triangular in form with a rectangular pin groove.

This brooch measures 19.11mm in length, 2.48mm in width, 2.23mm in thickness, 0.97g in weight.

There is a similar example from Suffolk recorded on the PAS database (SF-B856A7).
