Description Bourchier knot, heraddic badge of the Bourchier Earls of Bath, Lord Lieutenants of Devonshire, of Tawstock Court, about 3 miles south-west of Barnstaple in Devon. With falcon rising, belled. Detail from 16th century plaster ceiling originally situated in a mansion house in Barnstaple, (said by Pevsner to have been no.7, Cross Street (Pevsner, Nikolaus & Cherry, Bridget, The Buildings of England: Devon, London, 2004, p.338)) moved post 1912 to Stafford Barton by Charles Luxmoore
