Summary
[edit]DescriptionBoundary of Higham Park - geograph.org.uk - 93582.jpg |
English: Boundary of Higham Park. Looking south towards West Wood. The hedge is the boundary of a deer park given to the lord of Higham Ferrers by William the Conqueror. In Henry III's time the land became forfeit to the King (the lord of the manor having been 'disappeared') and reverted to ordinary farmland. The hedge is also the county boundary between Beds and Northants. |
