Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Boundary Stone at Three Nuns, Mirfield This is directly over the Nun Brook, the boundary between Mirfield and Hartshead, which was in Halifax Rural District until it was added to Spenborough in 1937. The cover for the water valve box has the initials MCWB. Mirfield obtained its water from Huddersfield, so this must be on the Morley Corporation Water Board main from their reservoir at Withens Clough in Mytholmroyd, the construction of which was started in 1891.
