Summary
[edit]DescriptionBoundary Stone, Shunner Howe - geograph.org.uk - 106193.jpg |
English: Boundary Stone, Shunner Howe. Aiming for Shunner Howe in the mist and without a compass I was using the line of Boundary Stones as a handrail. This is the most southerly in the grid square. I managed to get to the next one before deciding what's the point of aiming for Shunner Howe; the mist was getting thicker. So I opted to turn west and contour until I hit the shooters' track at North Dale. Not sure what the W stands for. Probably the family name of the local landowner at the time. |
