Description

Northern limit of the re-opened Bevercotes Colliery Branch in Nottinghamshire.

Fresh signs installed on the disused Bevercotes Colliery Branch, as part of Network Rail's reuse the track for testing as a extension of the w:High Marnham Test Track.

The single-track branch to the new Bevercotes Colliery was opened in 1961, linking it to the network at Boughton Junction. South of the location of the picture is a 352-yard bore known locally as Mummies Tunnel, but correctly titled Boughton Brake Tunnel. The portals are brick-built whilst the interior features a segmental arch concrete roof.
