"Mme Francoise Bouchotte, nee Jacquin"
Artist
Boudin (fl. 1785-1810) signed: Boudin
Title
"Mme Francoise Bouchotte, nee Jacquin"
Description

According to the attached piece of card with old legend it is a portrait of Mme Francoise Bouchotte, nee Jacquin who was born on 10th February 1774 in Metz and died in the same city on 29th March 1855, in age of 61 years.

From additional information found online we learn that this lady was (from 19th January 1796) the wife of the celebrated Napoleonic artillery officer, at the beginning of Louis-Philippe's reign - well-known politician, member of "Assemblee nationale" (French Parliament) from 3 July 1830 to 31 May 1831 (representative of department Moselle), Jean-Baptiste Charles Bouchotte (1770-1852; see our images nr. 7 with his extensive biography).

Signed "Boudin" this is one more work of this (known only as "Boudin", without pre-name) French miniaturist in our possession.

Miniaturist Boudin (l- Boudin?) is mentioned by Mme Lemoine-Bouchard as working in France between 1785-1810.
