Notes Ehrenfried Bros Puriri Mineral Water dark green seltzer bottle Louis and Bernard Ehrenfried migrated from Germany to Australia in the 1830s, and following the gold trail made their way to New Zealand – to Otago, the West Coast and finally to Thames where they set up the Ehrenfried Brothers brewery in 1868. Following the death of Bernard Ehrenfried circa 1880 Louis moved his operation to Auckland taking over the Albert Brewery from the Whitsons. The amalgamation with Brown Campbell and Co initiated in 1897 while Louis Ehrenfried was still alive was completed in 1898 by his nephew Arthur Myers.
