Eine äußerst charakteristische und interessante Art, welche ich am besten in die Sektion der Fissirostres unterbringen zu müssen glaube. Unter den Arten des tro- pischen Afrika muß sie der St. vaga N. E. Br. zur Seite gestellt werden. Ich habe mir erlaubt, die Art Herrn Geheirar. Prof, Dr. A. Engler zu widmen. St. melanantha Schltr. n. sp. ; decumbens, ramosa, 5—7 cm alta; corpusculis crassis, giabris, dentibus 4-seriatis triangulis patentibus acutis, 5—7 cm altis, 2—2,5 cm diametientibus ; floribus versus apices corpuscu- larum umbellatis, more generis extraaxillaribus ; umbellis sessilibus 6—10- floris; pedicellis teretibus giabris, c. 1,3 cm longis; calycis segmentis lanceolatis acuminatis giabris, 0,7 cm longis; corolla rotata ad me- dium usque 5-lobata, 5 cm diametiente, intus lineis ver- ruculosis plus minusve con- centricis densis ornata, extus glabra, lobis ovato-triangulis acuminatis, margine ciliolis clavatis valde caducis or- natis, c. 1,7 cm longis, basi 1,2 cm latis; coronae foliolis exterioribus dimidio inferiore connatis, dimidio superiore circuitu semioblongis, irre- gulariter crenulatis, erecto- dorso leviter 4
