| Description |
English: Boscombe: last lamppost on the pier Looking out from Boscombe pier on a sunny Boxing Day, the position of the sun coinciding precisely with the lamp, which is not lit. The Purbeck hills are in the distance.
The banner facing outwards, bottom right, says 'Max 8 knots'. The metal posts, projecting outwards horizontally from the walkway, keep taut metal cables in place. These will stop those who accidentally find themselves going overboard, but probably not those who do so wilfully. |
