A new concept at the pride festival. Open carry and right to fire arms as self protection. Police officer seemed okay with the idea and was visiting various booths. Self protection, for gays and others against bullying and so forth was their philosophy. Years ago, a friend of mine suggested I get an ammonia bottle for self protection as she knew I did a lot of long distance bicycle tours. I haven't had any problems as I tend to avoid confrontation as my first choice and maybe my luck has held out. I thought about her advise, but soon after she gave me her advise, she accidentally took a drink from her own ammonia bottle mistaking it for her water bottle. It burned her throat and caused her to have to cancel a trip she was looking forward to. Be careful around lethal things. |
