THE great social, religious, educationalor political organizations holding an-nual or less frequent conventions, arecalled upon, prior to each large meeting, toconsider the claims of various cities as suit-able meeting places for large gatherings. The first necessity for the successfulhandling of large bodies of people isnecessarily transportation facilities. Thensuitable halls and auditoriums for largegatherings, and sufficient hotel, lodgingand boarding accommodation for comfort-ably caring for guests must be considered, theatres, which can be utilized for con-vention purposes.
