A new idea seed display, U. S. Patent No. 1,661,406, used only by Vaughan's Seed Store. It sells what your customers want to buy. It sells the garden. Light, staunch, compact, it will hold $100 worth of 10-cent packets, displaying each one to the best advantage, tempting the customer to take it out and add it to his purchase. It is 32 inches tall and occupies counter space 14x34 inches. Note the dated laboratory gold certificate of High Test Seeds. New Profits in Home Gardens hE NEWEST interest of alert Americans is gardening. Spring, summer and fall, you hear it everywhere. Garden clubs organized, garden shows held, and society notes are filled with news about the activities of the garden lovers. Are you getting business from it? Is it boosting your sales of garden seeds? And if not, where is the difficulty? You Must Meet the New Demand For years the garden seed business was dominated by the thrift appeal. Vegetable seeds were sold to buyers who planted them n back yard gardens to reduce the grocery bill. Prosperity and increased leisure have altered the buyers' point of view. Gardens made for ornament and recreation now dominate; the thrift appeal is out. What does this mean to the dealer? It means new customers or old ones with new ideas. It calls for a new sales appeal to attract them, and it offers the opportunity for new stocks. The new garden styles have greatly stimulated the demand for bulbs; lawn seeds, fertilizers and insecticides. Every garden maker needs all these, and a complete line enables you to make added sales. But you must present these wares in a manner to match the motives which bring the garden makers to your store. They come with a vision; a dream. Before their eyes, a picture of sunshine on smooth, green lawns, and borders of brilliant flowers. They want to buy this picture done up in packages. Will you have it to sell? Vaughan's Seed Store, of Chicago and New York, a house founded in 1876, and for 52 years specializing in flower bulbs and seeds, and select quality strains of vegetables, offers you an affirmative answer to this question. In this catalog, we list for the first time a complete line of packet seeds (sent on consignment) together with lawn seeds, bulbs and supplies (not on consignment), all in attractive packages and displays, with sales helps and advertising matter designed to attract the new type home gardener. An order from you will bring everything that is needed to establish in your store an up-to-date, colorful, attractive GARDEN DEPARTMENT, which will make your store the mecca of home gardeners in your neighborhood, and bring you new profits and new contacts, with stimulus to your business in every line. Do not overlook this chance, but read carefully all the offers on the following pages.
