The principle is the one nature uses. Seed dropped from parent plants will lay dormant in the soil Until early in the spring when it germinates and begins a root system long before one can get in the ground to sow seed. Con- sequently the flowering season is prolonged by the earlier blooming. Ground should be prepared and seed sown just previous to the late heavy frost—early in November.
