Title
Book clasp
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy book clasp of later medieval to ealry post-medieval date, c.1500-1700. The clasp consists of a rectangular plate with a fluted attachment end that has a scalloped and slightly damaged edge, followed by a circular rivet and and four perforations of wich one remains opened due to the wear. The surface is decorated with an incised herringbone pattern which stops just above the perforations. In the centre of the main rectangular plate is another circular rivet, surrounded by two concentric circles.

The other terminal has a central, circular rivet followed by a decoration that is illegible due to wear. The clasp terminates in an integral hook that folds towards the reverse of the clasp.
