Title |
Book clasp |

Description |
English: A corroded book clasp wrought of copper alloy. The artefact is rectangular, with the stump of a hook at one end. At the other end is the corroded stump of an iron rivet, the iron rivet penetrates through the centre of the clasp. The obverse bears the remains of floral decoration, although the corrosion makes it difficult to see. There is a slight kink in the object, resulting from damage while in the soil. The surface is mid greyish-green and has a rough surface. This artefact is probably medieval. |
