Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy hook piece from a 16th century book clasp. This hook piece is rectangular in shape and measures 32mm in surviving length and 14mm in width. It has a circular perforation through its centre and a rectangular shaped worn and incomplete hook projecting from one edge. The front face is decorated with moulded decoration consisting of a transverse row of three triangles with annulets and stars within them, beyond this, nearest to the hook there are two parallel transverse lines withannulets and stars within them again.
