Description
English: Copper alloy book clasp. This example is rectangular in plan, with a flaring split terminal with an iron rivet in the centre. The hook on the opposite end is semi-cylindrical. In the centre is a series linear and pellet markings. Artefacts such as this have been discovered during excavation to predominately date to the 15th and 17th centuries such as the examples found in York (Ottaway & Rogers, 2002, 2937-2939)
