Title
Bone handle
Description
English: A one-piece rectangular-sectioned bone knife handle, decorated on each face with a row of three ring and dot motifs dated to the Roman period. On either side of the rows of ring and dots, the edges of the handle have been chamfered. On one face, the handle has split as the iron core within has corroded. At one end of the handle is a corroded, circular sectioned iron expansion; at the other what appears to be a fragment of a small iron knife blade. The bone handle measures 75mm in length and a maximum of 10mm in width. The blade measures 2mm in thickness and 9mm in width.
