Bone hair pin dating to the Roman period.
Description
English: Bone hair pin dating to the Roman period. The object has been carved out of a single piece of bone. It has a conical head. The head is decorated with incised cross-hatching. At the top of the head there is a projecting lobe. There are two pronounced ridges at the top of the neck. Below the ridges is a larger more gradual ridge below which are another two pronounced ridges. The shaft then narrows towards a point at the tip. It is a Crummy type 5.
