Description
English: The Bondas are a Munda ethnic group residing in the remote hill regions of Malkangiri district in southwestern Odisha. Bonda women shave their heads and wear two types of headbands: the turuba, made of grass, and the lobeda, made of beads. They also adorn their necks with metal bands known as khagla, typically made of aluminum, and beaded necklaces called Mali. Literacy among the Bondas is low, with only 6% able to read and write. The tribe's life expectancy is so low that they are on the brink of extinction.t.
