OR
Sweet Corn
Add 10 cents p ;r quart if to go by mail. One quart to 200 hills. Eight to ten quarts to the acre.
CULTURE OF CORN.— The Sweet or Sugar varieties, being liable to rot in cold or wet ground,
should not be planted before Ma.-, or until the ground has become warm ; for a succession, continue
planting every two weeks until the middle of July, in rich, well-manured ground, in hills 3 feet apart
each way, covering about half an inch, and thin out to three plants to a hill. The extra early varieties
can be planted 18 inches in the row and 2 ' 2 feet between the rows.
!/
w Gillespie's First Early Neck Corn. — Gilles-
pie's Extra Early Neck Corn is the first in the mar-
ket, and often brings large prices because it has the
market all to itself. It matures very quick, but has
an additional advantage — this corn does not rot when
planted early, hence gets a long start on tender sorts.
Ear, 5c. Dozen, 25c. Piut, ioc. Quart, 15c. Gal-
lon, 55c. Peck, 60c. Bushel, $2.00.

Adams, with an ear fully as large as Stowell's Ever-
green and more productive than either. Although
not legitimately a sugar corn, yet the husks, blades,
and ear in a green state exactly resemble the sugar
varieties, and it sells readily in the market as a sweet
or sugar corn. Dozen, 25c. Pint, ioc. Quart, 15c.

40c. Peck, 75c. Bushel, $2.00.
I l».
'otter's Excelsior or Squantam torn.— It
ripens early, has large twelve-rowed ears and deep
grains. It is remarkably sweet and peculiarly succu-
lent and tender. Pint, ioc. Quart, 20c. Gallon,
40c. Peck. 75c. Bushel, $2.00

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
