own work, bull traced from Fane crest in Fairbairn's Book of Crests File:FaneBull.jpg. As seen on arms dated 1506 of Thomas Boleyn, 1st Earl of Wiltshire in a stained glass window in Hever Castle File:Arms ThomasBoleyn 1st Earl of Wiltshire Hever Castle 1506.png and in several other ancient images, for example in St Mary'sChurch, Shelton, Norfolk. The usual blazon Argent, a chevron gules between three bull's heads afrontée sable does not appear to describe accurately these ancient images, as the bull's heads are not afrontée but rather semi-profiles with significant parts of the neck showing, couped at the base.
