ux Tortues, dans les côtes de la Florida oùelle vient déposer son frai. Cest un fait bien rare quune deces Tortues vienne à échouer sur les plages du sud-ouest euro-péen. Dailleurs cette espèce tend à devenir tout à fait rare,aussi bien que les autres Tortues du genre Ghelone, auquellesont fait une chasse active, comme dans les siècles passés auxTortues de terre gigantesques, maintenant en voie de dispari-tion. Ce sont des espèces qui se défendent à peine et se pro-pagent très mal, pour ne pas céder aux besoins de la concur-rence vitale, mais quil serait convenable de refaire, à causede Futilité quon peut tirer de ces animaux, tant comme ma-tière première, comme pour en faire des animaux de bouche-rie, dans les parages où manquent dordinaire les ressourcespour Falimentation.
