Fotografia popiersia Fryderyka Chopina (1810–1849) autorstwa Bolesława Syrewicza (1835–1899) z 1872 r., znajdującego się obecnie w zbiorach Muzeum Narodowego w Warszawie. Rzeźba wykonana w marmurze, o miękkim modelunku, z zachowaniem portretowego realizmu i szczegółów ubioru, jest dobrym przykładem stylu artysty. Jasna, marmurowa rzeźba na prostokątnym, niskim postumencie ostro kontrastuje z jednolicie ciemnym, gładkim tłem. Syrewicz był jednym z najwybitniejszych rzeźbiarzy drugiej połowy XIX w. działających na terenie Warszawy, realizował też liczne zamówienia zamiejscowe. Kształcił się w Warszawie, Berlinie, Monachium, Rzymie, Florencji. Odbył też liczne podróże artystyczne po Europie w celu orientacji w aktualnych prądach sztuki sepulkralnej, w której się specjalizował. Odbitka została sporządzona na papierze albuminowym, naklejona na kartonowy podkład z owalną suchą pieczęcią: „ZAKŁAD FOTOGRAFICZNY J. MIECZKOWSKIEGO W WARSZAWIE 498” (śr. d.). Oznaczenie firmowe jednoznacznie określa autorstwo fotografii, która jest obecnie przechowywana w zbiorach Domu Jana Matejki. (Agnieszka Zagrajek)
