Description:

Bol en grès, couverte craquelée et épaisse de couleur jaune crème.

Description iconographique:

Les fabriques de Genryūin à Satsuma dès le 17e siècle, et plusieurs autres au cours du 18e siècle, se firent une spécialité des couvertes suivant des techniques importées de Karatsu. Elles consistent à superposer une couverte blanche semi-translucide (hakudaku-yū), composée d’enduit feldspathique (chōseki-yū) et de paille (warabai-yū), et une couverte noire (koku-yū). D’épaisses craquelures laissent apparaître la couverte inférieure. Lorsque la couverte pâle est au-dessus, elle est appelée « shiro-jakatsu-yū » (de scorpion blanc), et « kuro-jakatsu-yū » (de scorpion noir) quand c’est le noir qui la couvre (MM).
