C’est le rôle des conservateurs de musée de veiller à limiter et contrôler ces risques, au moyens de produits chimiques (acaricides, insecticides, fongicides) ou par une série de congélation/décongélation à durées et températures précises, permettant de tuer les organismes indésirables à l’état adulte et de larves (les œufs étant souvent plus résistants) Cette boite conservée à titre pédagogique provient des collections naturalistes du Musée d'histoire naturelle de Lille.
