| Description |
English: According to the Buddhist teaching bodhisattva is a creature who decided to help others on their way to the enlightment. Bodhisattvas are depicted as beautiful figures with soulful faces dressed in exquisite gowns and decorated with jewellery. Bodhisattva of compassion was originally a young man but later on the image of a young girl spread out. In China he became one of the most favourite Buddhist deities.
Stone figure is dated back to the second half of the 6th century.
Čeština: Bódhisattva je podle buddhistického učení bytost, která se rozhodla pomáhat ostatním na cestě k osvícení. Bódhisattvové jsou zobrazování jako krásné postavy s oduševnělou tváří, oděné v nádherném šatu a ozdobené šperky. Bódhisattva soucitu byl původně mladý muž, postupně se však rozšířila podoba mladé dívky. V Číně se stal jedním z nejoblíbenějších božstev buddhismu.
Kamenná plastika je datována do druhé poloviny 6. století. |
