Description
Deutsch: Ein vermutlich letztes Mal bescheiden weihnachtlich dekoriert ist der Bedienraum des Stellwerks „Bhf“ von Bochum Hbf an einem trüben Tag zum Ende des Jahres 2007. Blick vom S-Bahnsteig Gleis 7/8 auf das Gebäude.

Noch sind die H/V-Signale in Betrieb, aber viele der neuen Ks-Signale (weiß ausgekreuzt) bereits aufgestellt. Sie werden, gesteuert vom Stellwerk „Bnf“ im Bahnhof Bochum Nord, zum 7. September 2008 in Betrieb gehen. Zum gleichen Zeitpunkt wird „Bhf“ nach 50 Betriebsjahren außer Dienst gestellt.

English: On a gloomy winter day near the end of 2007, some modest christmas decoration is, probably for the last time, visible in the control room of the signal box "Bhf" (mnemonic code for Bochum Hauptbahnhof Fahrdienstleiter) at Bochum Hauptbahnhof.

This view from platform 7 and 8 shows the brick building alongside illuminated "H/V system" colour light signals. Many of the new "Ks system" light signals have already been erected, but for now are signalized as inactive by means of white crosses. They will come to life on September 7th, 2008, marking the final day of operations for the "Bhf" signal box after 50 years of service.

In the background, to the immediate left of the signal box, see the tall brewhouse of the Fiege brewery with its landmark rooftop advertisement.
