Summary
[edit]DescriptionBoarded-up entrance - geograph.org.uk - 1064986.jpg |
English: Boarded-up entrance Into the former office building of Premier (HL) Foods. One segment of the wooden fence in front has fallen to the ground; the notice seen affixed to one of the gate posts is a recently issued Tree Conservation Order.
These derelict factory and office buildings were formerly used by Premier (HL) Foods for food processing and distribution who acquired the HP Canned Goods operation with their factory based in North Walsham in March 1996. The factory was closed in 2002 with the loss of almost 100 jobs, in order to transfer production to other sites in Wisbech and Long Sutton. The buildings have been vacant since the business closed and the site is considered suitable for reuse for a variety of employment generating purposes. Another alternative could be the redevelopment of all or part of the site. |
