Description
English: Stachytarpheta indica. Common names: Blue porterweed, blue snakeweed, Brazilian tea, Jamaican porterweed, Jamaica vervain. This is a woody shrub that grows to a height of 1.8m. The inflorescence are long spikes which produce 2-3 flowers at a time. The flowers last for a day, and are replaced by a new set the next day. This plant grows well in semi-shade and full sun conditions. It can also be grown in a container if watered moderately. The blue snakeweed is free-flowering and a popular nectar plant for small and moderately-sized butterflies.
