Description
English: FOLKESTONE

1881-1898 George Poole IRONMONGER & GAS FITTER. Lived above the shop with his wife Anne, daughter Harriett, and sons William, Edwin (both gas fitters) and Harry (an ironmonger's assistant). George died in 1898 and the business was later taken over by Charles Ostler from 1906 to 1911. As well as an ironmonger, Charles was a cycle agent - one of 12 in Folkestone at that time.
