English: Bloxwich 1st railway station (site), West Midlands, 2011 Opened in 1858 by the South Staffordshire Railway on the line from Walsall to Rugeley, this station closed in 1965. When a new station at Bloxwich opened in 1989. it was at a site some 300m north of here. View north towards the new Bloxwich station and Rugeley. Seven years after this image was taken, the line was electrified, the signal box removed and a pedestrian footbridge installed. |
