Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bloomsbury: Cosmo Place & The Queen's Larder, WC1 Following on from Stephen's 565853, the reputed reason for the naming of the public house on the right corner as the Queen's Larder is that King George III stayed in the adjacent Queen Square whilst receiving treatment during one of his bouts of mental illness, and his wife, Queen Charlotte, rented a small cellar in the original alehouse on the site to store delicacies for her sick husband. When the alehouse was converted to a tavern later in King George's reign it was named the Queen's Larder in her honour.
