Description

Richard Davey, M.D., and Jason Liu, Ph.D., hold a unit of blood that is ready for further processing. Dr. Davey is director of the Division of Blood Applications and Dr. Liu is the director of the Laboratory of Molecular Testing and Immunogenetics at the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Blood Research and Review. FDA is responsible for the safety of our nation’s blood supply and is at the forefront of evaluating and encouraging innovative technologies for protecting it.
