| Description |
Nederlands: Brigadegeneraal Egbers en burgemeester Buijs-Glaudemans van de gemeente Oss hebben deze week bloemstukken gelegd op de graven van wachtmeester Geerard Hoekman en opperwachtmeester Arend Mintjes. Deze 2 marechaussees hebben een belangrijke rol gespeeld bij de aanpak van de criminaliteit rond Oss in de 19e en 20e eeuw.
Hoekman verloor daarbij zijn leven; hij werd in 1893 door criminelen doodgeschoten. Mintjes kwam ook tijdens zijn dienst om het leven; hij overleed in 1945 na een aanrijding. De gemeente Oss heeft de graven opgeknapt en wil – met de bij de graven geplaatste informatiebordjes – beide marechaussees een zichtbare plek geven. |
