Number 88 blocc88

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Number 88 in white nationalism

User comment:

The number 88 is used by neo-Nazi groups as a discreet (initiatory) salute, praising Adolf Hitler. The letter H is the eighth letter of the alphabet, so 88 represents HH, an abbreviation for Heil Hitler, the Nazi salute.

The photo shows the shop sign on the façade of Blocco 88, a fashion store in Via Leonardo Da Vinci, 39100 Bolzano, Italy. Whether the name or the clothing store has anything to do with the neo-Nazi code is unsubstantiated and therefore doubtful.
