E A conceit and dance in aid of thopermanently blinded British soldierswere held last night in Masonic Tem-ple, Clermont and Lafayette avenues,under the auspices of the VictoriaChapter of the Daughters of theBritish Empire. A number of notedmusicians were heard, including MissEmma F. Squire, soprano; Miss VeraBarston, violinist; Gwilym Miles,baritone; Theodore Martin, tenor,and Otto Dudley Richardson, pianist.The Stus-vesant Male Quartet alsosang a series of songs, Mrs. Florence S. Merriman andIrwin Hassel were accompanists.The programme was opened by tlHsinging of The .Star Spangled Ban.ner by Miss Harriett Villette Brown,and God Save the King by Mi*.Laura Consaul Ross.
