Deutsch: Bisher begegnen Flugzeuge der Vereisung in der Luft vor allem mit beheizten Flügelvorderkanten. Dabei wird aus den Triebwerken heiße, komprimierte Luft abgezapft und in die Tragflächen hinein geleitet. Oder Heizmatten wärmen die Flügel mit großem Stromverbrauch. "Bisherige Methoden verbrauchen einfach zu viel Energie, was die Reichweite der Flugzeuge einschränkt", sagt DLR-Ingenieur Christian Mendig. Er will mit seinen Kollegen vom Braunschweiger DLR-Institut für Faserverbundleichtbau und Adaptronik dem Eis mit allerlei mechanischen Tricks zu Leibe rücken.
