Description
Deutsch: Ev. Stadtkirche St. Thomas Leipzig. Die Orgel auf der westlichen Chorempore baute Wilhelm Sauer im Jahre 1889. Ursprünglich hatte das romantische Instrument 63 klingende Stimmen, 1908 wurde diese Zahl auf 88 erhöht (restauriert 2005). Zentral im Kirchenraum, am zweiten Pfeiler von Osten, ist die neogotische Kanzel aus französischem Kalkstein angebracht, nach einem Entwurf von Oskar Rassau um 1885 entstanden. Fast den gesamten Kirchenraum nimmt ein Gestühl aus dem Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts ein, das nach einem Entwurf von Constantin Lipsius aus Weichholz und Eiche gefertigt wurde. Nach oben schauend sieht man in der spätgotischen Halle mit der engen Pfeilerstellung ein alles überspannendes Rippennetzgewölbe.
