Description
Deutsch: Katholische Christ-König-Kirche in Hagen-Boelerheide, Overbergstraße 45. Der dreischiffige Backsteinbau des Hagener Architekten Peter Wiehl, errichtet 1927, lehnt sich zwar an frühchristliche Vorbilder an (etwa an St. Vitale in Ravenna), folgt aber gleichzeitig niederländischer Architektur der frühen 1920er Jahre. Im Innern wie im Äußern kombinierte Wiehl letztlich Bauzitate aus Barock, Romanik, Neuer Sachlichkeit und Expressionismus und schuf mit Friedrich Leisse (expressionistische Ausmalung) eine der beutendsten Kirchenanlagen Westfalens zwischen den Weltkriegen. Der Glockenturm entstand erst 1994 (Architekt: E. Wellie).
