Summary

[edit]
Description
English: According to Westcott, Catherine Morris (1990). "The "Parsifal" Influence in the Work of Jean Delville". Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts 3 (1), p. 8; 12 ([1]), this is a blue crayon (blueine) drawing of Jean Delville's wife, Marie Lessine, who served as a model for many of his Esoteric paintings. In this drawing, she is depicted with a Ishtar's circlet, indicating her symbol as a feminine principle or as Isis: a spiritual, eternal feminine according to Delville's Esoteric beliefs; this drawing, in turn, made the artist symbolically become Parsifal.
