English: Bleak and blasted shore Looking south along Irlam's Beach, we can see the effect of recent storms and high seas on the tenuous vegetation, principally marram grass, hanging on grimly to this shoreline margin, and to the sand, swept over landwards. On the far horizon is the higher ground of the Naze, Walton and Frinton. |
