Blaison-Gohier (Maine-et-Loire) Eglise Saint-Aubin (XIIe siècle). Quelques vestiges du XIe siècle. En entrant on admire les voûtes du XIIe siècle. Les fenêtres du fond du choeur sont du XIIIe siècle, les fenêtres latérales du choeur du XVe siècle. Les stalles datent du XVe siècle, la chaire est du XVIIe, le narthex de la fin du XVIIe siècle. La façade a été refaite au XIXe siècle. L'église aurait été construite, à l'initiative du comte d'Anjou Foulques Nerra, de 987 à 1040. Il aurait fondé à Blaison, vers 1020, un collège de quatre chanoines aidés de dix chapelains. Ces chanoines séculiers, à l'inverse des chanoines réguliers, ne vivaient pas ensemble mais logeaient dans des maisons du bourg. La plupart des maisons anciennes du bourg sont d'anciennes maisons canoniales. Ces clercs, n'ayant pas fait voeux de pauvreté, venaient souvent de familles aisées et pouvaient garder leurs biens personnels. Ils profitaient des revenus des chapellenies. Les chanoines et chapelains animeront le village pendant 8 siècle. L'église est dédiée à Saint Aubin*. A l'origine l'église était de style roman (mur épais, petites ouvertures et quasi absence de transept). L'édifice est reconstruit en style gothique Plantagenêt à partir du XIIème siècle. La charpente médiévale est remarquable, les stalles en chêne du XVème siècle sont sculptées et protégées au titre des monuments historiques. Pendant la guerre de Cent ans, l'église sera fortifiée par la mise en oeuvre au dessus de la nef d'une chambre forte dotée de meurtrières et de fentes de tirs. Les murs ont été réalisés en tuffeau "blond" extrait des carrières souterraines d'un village troglodytique voisin "Raindron". Au nord, la "Porte des Morts" s'ouvre sous un auvent. Le clocher est début gothique.
Originally the church was Romanesque. In the twelfth century, reconstruction in Gothic style Plantagenet give the church its present appearance. During the Hundred Years War, the church will be fortified. The walls were made of blond limestone extracted from underground quarries of a village nearby cave "Raindron". |
